  • Man, what an incredible experience for a first date. Our guide Gary was awesome, was a true horseman, knew the area, land and the horses like the back of his hand. I'm an expert rider and it was my girls second time on a horse. Gary made sure she was safe, knew what she was doing and always in control so I could just relax, ride and not try to teach her how to ride. We were a little late getting there, but Gary called us to let us know we were fine. They had water, snacks and views for days once we got to the top of the trail. The terrain was beautiful, trails perfect and the horses were great. Our Team

Gary Gayler is the culmination of over 50 years training, instructing and horse related business adventures that includes film, artist photo shoots, polocrosse, polo, cattle gatherings, sorting, etc. Gary, while wrangling on film projects, instructs and advises actors and models on the horsemanship aspects required.

Hey y’all! My name is Emma. I have a love and passion for horses and riding. I have been taking barrel racing lessons and I have been working with horses for the past couple of months. I have such a fun time taking trails up, and I can’t wait to meet you!


From Pea Green, Colorado, Remi Mae grew up in the western world rodeoing and playing music professionally. She moved to the hill country in 2021 to pursue her music career as well as her work in the horse world.

  • Where can I go horseback riding near San Marcos, Wimberley, Austin, Dripping Springs, or San Antonio?

    Texas Horse Adventures is centrally located in the Texas Hill Country, just 10 minutes from San Marcos and a short drive from Wimberley. Many of our guests visit from these nearby cities to enjoy a true ranch experience close to town.

  • How far are you from the major cities nearby?

    • 10 minutes from San Marcos
    • 20 minutes from Wimberley
    • 25–30 minutes from Dripping Springs
    • 35–40 minutes from Austin
    • About 1 hour from San Antonio

  • Are your horseback rides beginner and family-friendly?

    Yes! We welcome beginners, experienced riders, families, and couples. Children ages 9 and up can ride, and our guides ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable before hitting the trail. Exceptions may be made for younger children with prior riding experience. 

  • What should I wear for horseback riding in the Texas Hill Country?

    To ride you must be wearing long pants and closed-toe shoes. Helmets are provided and required to wear while riding the ranch trails.

  • Do you offer private horseback rides?

    Yes, all of our rides are private! Whether you book for one rider or four, your group will have the ride to yourselves. This ensures a more personal and scenic Texas Hill Country experience
